The State of Connecticut
The Constitution State sits at the southern tip of New England. With New York and New Jersey, together they are referred to often as the Tri-state Area.
Algonquin-speaking tribes inhabited the area prior to European colonization. One of the original Thirteen Colonies, Connecticut joined the formation of the United States by its involvement in the Revolutionary War. Today it the third smallest state in area but the fourth most densely populated.
Connecticut's access to the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Long Island Sound made the shipping and fishing industries a natural fit for the state. It also plays host to financial institutions such as hedge fund management and several insurance companies. Manufacturing is also relevant here, with several aircraft plants located in the state, along with several gun builders.
Connecticut is bisected by the Connecticut River. The coastline's beaches attract tourists and visitors, and in the northern part of the state one can find many farms and mountains. Historic preservation is a big part of Connecticut, and many old towns have traditional early colonial architecture and buildings to attract history buffs.
Its position on the coast means the Atlantic Ocean influences the climate of the state, with warmer more humid air coming up in the summers while winters are typically cold, with higher snowfalls in the northwestern area of the state with higher elevation.
Residents of Connecticut enjoy access to all national cellular carriers, but due to environmental conditions or other factors some people may not have full access to decent cellular coverage. If you live or work in Connecticut and are having connectivity issues, it may not be your carrier’s fault. If you need to Boost Your Bars, check out cell phone signal amplifier kits from HiBoost.
