The State of Idaho

Part of the Pacific Northwest or Cascadian region, Idaho became the 43rd state in 1890. It is divided into Pacific time and Mountain Time. Before European explorers came through the region, it was home to native peoples dating back to 14,500 years ago. The Nez Percé and Shoshone were the most prominent tribes in the area. French-Canadian trappers left their mark on the land in the names of many places, and the area is famous for being explored by Lewis and Clark. Before becoming a state, Oregon was a disputed territory between Britain and the U.S.

Idaho was greatly impacted by the Great Depression. In the decades since, the state has sought to bolster their economy through tourism and agriculture, and more recently has had more emphasis on technological industries. Idaho's main agricultural focus is on potatoes and wheat, There is also an important center for processed cheese production. Anheuser-Busch has facilities there too. and the town of Lewiston is home to ammunition plants.

Idaho's wide open spaces and mountainous regions are a hotspot for outdoor recreation and tourism. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are popular pursuits. Currently, the biggest industry in Idaho is technology. Boise in particular is home for semiconductor manufacturing as well as Hewlett-Packard.

Residents in Idaho enjoy access to all national cellular carriers, but due to environmental conditions or other factors some consumers cannot get good cellular coverage. If you live or work in the Gem State and are having connectivity issues, it may not be your carrier’s fault. If you need to Boost Your Bars, take a look at HiBoost cell phone signal amplifier kits.
