The State of Michigan
Situated in the Great Lakes Region, Michigan was first settled by native tribes. In the 17th century, French explorers began to settle the area. It became the 26th state in the Union in 1837. Currently, Michigan boasts a population of almost 10,000,000 people, and is 11th in total land area. The Great Lakes State is unique in that it's the only state that is made up of two peninsulas. The Upper Peninsula was given as a concession to the territory of Michigan after the Toledo War, a boundary dispute, was settled with Ohio in 1836.
The state's expansive coastlines create a very lucrative industry centered on shipping, recreation, and fishing. In fact, it has the longest freshwater coastline in the United States. It also has the bragging rights to having the most lighthouses in any state. The state is known for its automotive industry, manufacturing, engineering and R&D, IT, and especially i in the Upper Peninsula, forestry and mining are big business.
Michigan is prone to very heavy snowfall due to lake-effect snows. Tornadoes are not uncommon in the southernmost portion of the state, but rare in the rest. For Michigan residents in either rural areas or in the cities, this can have an impact on cell phone towers and create thus connectivity problems. In addition to other factors such as infrastructure or variances in topography blocking radio frequencies, some residents may also suffer from simply not getting enough cell coverage in their area.
Michigan residents need to stay connected. If you’re experiencing connectivity issues with your cell phone or smart mobile devices, Boost Your Bars with a HiBoost cell phone signal amplifier kit.
