The State of Oklahoma
Oklahoma was originally home to Native Americans. Before Europeans explored the area and colonists pushed west, Choctaw, Witchita, Tejas, and Kichai inhabited the area. It is in the middle of the Great Plains and surrounded by Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, and Arkansas. It joined the United State in 1906 and then became the 46th state.
The climate of Oklahoma is divided. Its more central location in the state means that it's actually within a transition zone from the humid subtropical climate to a humid continental climate in the north with a more semi-arid region in the west. This divergence in climate creates a lot of potential weather for severe weather. Oklahoma is often prone to thunderstorms and hail, with around sixty tornadoes a year affecting it, more than any other place in the world per annum. It is also occasionally impacted by severe snows and blizzards in the winter. The state is made of the Great Plains and mountainous regions in its eastern part, with the Ozark Mountains and foothills creating many opportunities for outdoor recreation.
The economy of Oklahoma has diversified away from its original agricultural-based roots. Farming is still important to the state; it ranks fifth in production of wheat and cattle. Its geology created ideal conditions for natural gas and oil productions; it produces the third-most natural gas and fifth most oil out of the fifty states. Wind-based energy production is also common. Food processing and aircraft manufacturing are also important to the state's revenue. Tourism to the area is encouraged by the state's many state and national parks, as well as its thriving arts districts and museums.
Residents in Oklahoma enjoy access to all national cellular carriers, but due to environmental conditions or other factors some people may not have full access to decent cellular coverage. If you live or work in Oklahoma and are having connectivity issues, it may not be your carrier’s fault. If you need to Boost Your Bars, check out cell phone signal amplifier kits from HiBoost.
