The State of Wyoming

Wyoming is a Mountain state in the western United States. It is the least populated, second least densely populated, and tenth largest state by area. It shares borders with Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana. Its capitol city is Cheyenne and is home to over half a million people.

Originally home to several different tribes, Wyoming had a thriving native population prior to European contact. Native peoples in the area included the Shoshone, Arapaho, Crow, and Lakota. The Spanish empire had part of the southern area of Wyoming that later became part of Mexico. This was given to the United States as part of settlement terms after the American victory in the Mexican-American War.

The geography of Wyoming is essentially a plateau broken up by several mountain ranges where the Rockies meet the Great Plains. The Continental Divide runs north to south in the center of Wyoming. Most of the state's climate is semi-arid and continental. It also is very windy. Most precipitation occurs in spring and summer. The Big Horn Basin is almost a true desert and receives very little rainfall per year. The state has great extremes in temperature, Average summer temperatures are generally warm but decrease with higher elevations, and summer nights cool down quickly. Winters are cold to extremely cold, but occasional Chinook winds keep some areas much warmer. The plains in the southeastern part of Wyoming experience the most thunderstorms and occasional tornadoes, but these are usually not severe.

The economy of the state of Wyoming is heavily dependent on mineral extraction. Coal, methane, crude oil, trona, uranium, natural gas, and diamonds are all mined and drilled for within the state. Agriculture is very important to the state's economy as well. Main agricultural products produced in the state include: beef, sugar beets, barley and wheat, and wool. The federal government own 50% of the land in Wyoming. Many state and national parks exist, and six million people visited the national monuments and parks there every year. Popular attractions include Yellowstone National Park, which is the world's first national park, Fossil Butte National Monunment, Independence Rock, Grand Teton National Park, and Devil's Tower National Monument. Tourism brings in over $2 billion dollars of the state's revenue a year.

People residing in the Equality State have access to all national cellular carriers, but due to environmental conditions or other factors, some mobile device users might not be able to get decent cellular coverage. If you live or work in the state of Wyoming and are having connectivity issues, it may not be your carrier’s fault.
